The primary accountabilities below are intended to describe the general content and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.  

Leads employees in assigned work area. Assigns daily tasks and project work. Balances workload across daily staff, adjusting for attendance and workload. Monitors progress throughout shift and adjusts workload as needed. Ensures employees have necessary supplies and equipment and meet uniform guidelines. Performs assigned duties of team members to meet operational needs. Uses professional cleaning products, equipment and techniques. Interacts with customers, visitors, students, coworkers and others in a friendly, helpful and professional manner. Uses assigned communication device.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS TO INCLUDE:

·         Leads employees in assigned work area. Assigns daily tasks and project work. Balances workload across daily staff, adjusting for attendance and workload. Monitors progress throughout shift and adjusts workload as needed. Leads special projects.

·         Performs duties of team members to meet operational needs. Performs a variety of routine and major cleaning duties including floor care and maintenance.

·         Completes tasks independently and actively participates in ongoing training to maintain professional cleaning skills.

·         Shares operational information with team members. Attends and participates in team meetings. Uses assigned computer programs, apps and devices to communicate and document work tasks, time and attendance, complete required training and respond to regular and urgent requests.

·         Collects a variety of data and provides input for time and attendance, performance management and corrective actions as needed. May assist with on-the-job training.

·         Monitors inventory of supplies and equipment. Receives stocks and distributes supplies. Ensures proper use and storage of supplies and uses resources in a cost-effective manner. Monitors equipment use and performs basic maintenance. Reports issues that require maintenance and repair.

·         Uses assigned communication device to read and respond to texts, emails and service requests.  Interacts with customers, visitors, students, coworkers and others in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.

·         Performs other duties as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

·         Ability to lead and train others

·         Knowledge of commercial cleaning and floor care equipment

·         Ability to read and write well enough to comprehend written and oral instructions

·         Perform tasks requiring the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs and walk significant distances within and between buildings on campus

·         Interpersonal skills

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·         Ability to use personal computer, cell phone, tablet and other devices

·         Ability to utilize computer programs to include Word and Outlook. Ability to use other programs and apps necessary to perform job duties

·         Detail oriented

·         Ability to follow-up

·         Organizational skills

·         Prioritization skills

 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Subject to change to meet the needs of the University).

   

Starting Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $17.50 (Commensurate with experience & qualifications)

 

 

Qualifications

 

High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required.  One (1) year of related experience in a commercial, institutional or educational setting required.  Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.  

MVR:

Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession a valid driver’s license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

 

PERSONAL:

Possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the duties and responsibilities of this position to include:

·         Lifting and carrying a minimum of fifty (50) pounds

·         Climbing stairs

·         Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and extensive walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.

·         Working in confined spaces.

·         Working within extreme temperature ranges.
