Position Summary | This recruitment will be used to fill two Entomology Field/Lab Technician positions for The Adams Tree Fruit Entomology Lab at Oregon State University (OSU). The Adams Tree Fruit Entomology Lab, located at the Mid-Columbia Agricultural Research and Extension Center (MCAREC) in Hood River, is interviewing for summer hourly employees to help with a number of research projects in both Pear and Sweet Cherry orchards. Our lab focuses on the ecology and management of arthropods that occur in tree fruit production. Research themes include chemical ecology, biological control, habitat management, behavioral pest management, and agricultural innovation and technology. We are seeking candidates for undergraduate research assistants to work during the summer field season (June through August). Successful applicants will participate in research projects focused on established pests of tree fruit, invasive species, natural enemies, insect disease vectors, and emerging agricultural innovation. This is a great summer employment opportunity for anyone interested in tree fruit production, insect ecology, or sustainable ecosystem services. |

This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on be half of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard125-155-0200) as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq |
