The Registrar’s Office is seeking (1) Enrollment Services Specialist to join the already awesome team taking them to the next level of excellence!
The Office of the Registrar seeks individuals with demonstrated experience in certifying student enrollment for Veteran Education Benefits. Under the supervision of the Assistant Registrar in the Registration and Compliance area, the VA Certifying Officials manage enrollment certifications for more than 1500 military-connected students. The selected candidates must have demonstrated academic advising experience, knowledge of the Department of Veteran Affairs education benefits, and the ability to use the VA-Once System to enter and retrieve student veteran education benefits information.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Must receive School Certifying Official (SCO) certification by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) by successfully passing the initial virtual training sessions before access is given to the VA-Once system and must maintain the SCO designation by passing the VA monthly mandated trainings and exams by the established deadlines.
- Report, amend, and adjust certifications using the VA-ONCE system and ensure all required student paperwork is completed and filed appropriately and securely.
- Monitor the subjects pursued by students receiving VA education benefits and certify to the VA only those subjects that apply to the degree program pursued.
- Report students who have graduated and students who have been placed on academic probation, suspension, or dismissal due to unsatisfactory progress or conduct to the VA each semester.
- Function as liaison between the VA and student to resolve benefit issues or payment issues.
- Knowledgeable of all University Academic Policies and be able to explain them to students as needed.
- Assist with annual federal and state audits regarding VA education benefits.
- Attend annual state, regional and national VA conferences.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of registrar-related functions, integrated student record data systems, such as Banner and Banner Workflow, and laws governing student records.
- Have a collaborative, energetic and resourceful work style.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task; pay attention to detail; and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Argos, SQL, and video editing software.
