Job Description
The University of Notre Dame Graduate School has a crucial role in supporting graduate programs and helping ensure that Notre Dame graduate students become a force for good in the world. With many nationally and internationally recognized graduate programs, the Graduate School attracts top scholars from all over the globe. Over the last five years our graduate students have been awarded more than $6 million in external grants and fellowships from foundations such as Ford, Mellon, and NSF. In addition, 97% of our graduates report successful achievement of their career goals. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Graduate Enrollment Management, the Enrollment Program Director will play a critical role in the Graduate School. The Program Director will represent the Graduate School at national events and conferences and engage with current students to improve recruitment and retention across the graduate school. This role directly impacts Notre Dame’s mission by recruiting passionate, engaged students who will bring talent, integrity, and heart to a vibrant and diverse student population.

Some of what it takes to do the job well:

  • Developing expertise with the CRM and application system and sharing that expertise with the users in the departments.
  • Developing sources and processes to identify top prospects and connecting them with academic programs and faculty members according to their interests.
  • Coordinating recruitment activities on and off campus on behalf of the colleges, programs, and Graduate School.
  • Presenting some sessions both on campus and at graduate fairs.
  • Assisting the academic programs in developing, implementing, and updating targeted recruitment and retention strategies, as well as developing and disseminating reports for the assessment of those strategies and their effectiveness.

Success in the role will be demonstrated through increased numbers of applications from top prospects, of applicants who matriculate, and of students who graduate.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic enrollment initiatives, including the collection and assessment of data to support planning and evaluate impacts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical aptitude to work with an online application and CRM tool
  • Must be able to effectively work with a diverse group of prospects, applicants, students, faculty, and staff

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree
  • Prior experience with higher ed, particularly at a graduate-level research institution
  • 3-4 years experience
