Job Summary
We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Enrollment Communication Coordinator
Enrollment Communication Coordinator is responsible for reporting on and supervising the Student Communication Center and creating training materials for student staff. The coordinator will support the development of communication content and maintenance of the CRM for Enrollment Services. The coordinator will assist in events and activities that support overall new student enrollment. This position works under the supervision of the Enrollment Marketing Manager to write, build, and implement effective communications that attract and nurture prospective students. The coordinator will research best practices in enrollment marketing and communications and design creative content that will effectively influence student behaviors to enhance student success and recruitment. In collaboration with the Enrollment Communications team and the Office of Marketing and Communication, the person in this position translates enrollment strategies and priorities into social media, text, email, phone, and print campaigns. The Enrollment Communication Coordinator must be available for regular evening and occasional weekend work.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • One or more years of communication or marketing experience
  • One or more years of supervisory experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong copywriting and copyediting skills
  • Ability to prioritize and communicate across multiple levels of the business
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively work within a diverse community, to establish and maintain good working relationships with alumni, faculty, staff, students, and the public, and to express ideas clearly and concisely
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook (or familiarity with similar products)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator
  • Excellent problem resolution skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Must be available for regular evening and occasional weekend work

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, writing, statistics, English, creative writing, marketing, business analytics, or a related field
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Demonstrated experience managing a CRM or CRM implementation
  • Experience working in or managing a call center
  • Bilingual ability: Spanish preferred

    Interpret and Convey Eastern’s vision and goals through student communication center activities:
    • Supervise student staff members responsible for outreach from the Student Communication Center;
    • Develop training materials in partnership with the Enrollment Marketing Manager, Admissions, Financial Aid and Running Start;
    • Develop appropriate communication plans with Admissions, Financial Aid, Dual Enrollment and other campus units to make sure appropriate and timely messaging is shared with students;
    • Develop, manage, and participate in communication campaigns consistent with enrollment goals;
    • Actively seek to stay informed on industry trends and best practices in social media, text, email, phone and print communications for audiences in higher education;
    • Understand the profile of target markets to inform strategy;
    • Conduct focus groups and/or surveys of continuing and prospective students to enhance insight into student choices to inform improvement of existing efforts;
    • Works with campus stakeholders to ensure communication aligns with the needs of prospective students in underrepresented groups, including but not limited to first-generation, lower socioeconomic, ethnic minority, adult learner, and returning students.
    • Assist in the development of reports, queries, and analytics to determine outreach efforts, ROI, and new student behavior;
    • Assist supervisor in budget management of the Student Communication Center.

    Communication strategies:
    • Document CRM processes and develop workflow solutions to reduce data errors;
    • Manage and complete deduplication of records within the CRM system;
    • Monitor, build, implement, and revise communications using CRM software;
    • Create content for marketing materials, emails, and campaigns;
    • Clean lists and upload cleaned list data into the CRM;
    • Collaborate with EWU Admissions, Financial Aid, Running Start and campus partners in staff trainings;
    • Work to fully leverage the CRM for internal efficiencies and improved student experience;
    • Complete special projects and serve on committees as assigned;
    • Partner with EWU Marketing and Communication in the development of communication and marketing to prospective students as well as the development of digital and collateral pieces;
