The Enrollment Coach will assist and advise prospective learners, guiding them through the process of enrolling in College of Professional and Continuing Studies programs. The Enrollment Coach will follow a contact strategy based on phone, email, and text-based communication to explain the admission process and qualifications. Additionally, the role is developed to provide information about admission decisions and outline resources and on-boarding procedures. The Enrollment Coach will conduct appointments to identify a program that best aligns with a prospective learner’s academic and professional goals, develop connections, and maintain transparency in the progression to enrollment. The Enrollment Coach will manage their prospective learners pipeline for multiple enrollment terms, effectively organize and document notes and/or stages within the CRM database, and assist in document collection. Enrollment Coaches will also support the Recruitment and Enrollment team through additional initiatives and/or trainings.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive calls or scheduled appointments and conduct thorough conversations focused on the program, qualifications, and prospective learner’s questions or concerns regarding the enrollment process.
  • Conduct outreach to prospective learners in adherence to contact strategy.
  • Documents all outreach, notes, and details in relation to a prospective learner’s progressions within the CRM system.
  • Support a prospective learner through the entire enrollment process.
  • Facilitate enrollment strategies such as focus initiatives, webinars, transfer fairs, or other assigned tasks.
  • Ensures transparent communication that complies with the College of Professional and Continuing Studies and University procedures and policies to not mislead or misdirect a prospective learner.
 

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree AND:

  • 36 months experience recruiting students for college programs, student services, or other closely related experience in a higher education environment.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 84 months related experience. 

Skills:

  • Proficient navigating and maintaining databases
  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
  • Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
  • General office skills such as multi-line phone, copying, filing, faxing, and mail
  • Customer service
  • High level of demonstrated interpersonal and oral communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver effective presentations to large groups.
  • Able to guide future students toward program completion effectively and appropriately.
  • Understanding of university degree programs and graduation degree plans.
  • Must be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations

Certifications:

  • Valid Drivers license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire date. Required for up to 10% travel during peak recruitment periods. 

Advertised Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to bend, lift, stoop, and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Requires contact with other departments and university officials.
  • Travel required.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended and weekend hours during peak periods.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Master's degree in Business, Communication, Adult & Higher Educ., Liberal Studies or related field.
  • Experience working with non-traditional students in college programs.
  • Personal and/or professional experience with online and distance education programs.
  • Additional computer and technology skills including ONE/Banner.
