JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction, conducts and implements research and analysis that support university enrollment initiatives and strategy for emerging international and domestic student populations. The role works with a variety of university stakeholders to define, summarize, report, and maintain key data points of student enrollment progress, indicators of promising recruitment populations, and markers of rising enrollment trends nationally and globally.

           

JOB DUTIES:

  • Conducts data collection, integration, and analysis to address routine and ad hoc enrollment and student market research questions in support of a growing portfolio of international and domestic student populations.

  • Develops data visualizations, reports, and interactive dashboards for disseminating key metrics and metric trends surrounding international and domestic student enrollment and success.

  • Works with strategic units within and beyond Enrollment Management to develop research methodologies for answering questions related to student enrollment, new program and/or market development, pricing and financial aid strategies, and outreach endeavors. 

  • Authors queries to integrate data across student record databases, customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, and other sources.

  • Extracts data from various university systems, validating information for accuracy, and to fulfill internal and external ad hoc data requests.

  • Administers student surveys and advises on instrument design.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Basic knowledge of higher education policies and programs and familiarity with/ability to learn common data collection and analysis tools including: Tableau, Alteryx, Slate, Ellucian Banner, Terra Dotta, SEVIS, IBM Cognos, R or SPSS 

  • Working knowledge of mixed-method data collection, cleansing, transformation, visualization, and analysis techniques, including recoding of data, descriptive statistical analysis, relationship detection, trend analysis, and some data mining

  • Ability to engage in proactive and creative problem-solving.

  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple assignments and priorities

  • Ability to report results of research and present data to broad non-technical audiences

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of integrity when handling confidential data

  • Ability to master new and emerging technologies to the benefit of the university.

  • Evidence of having a collaborative and cooperative work style that drives projects to completion.

  • Ability to build reports, and interactive charts/graphs using tools such as Tableau

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor's degree in social science, public health, computer science, artificial intelligence, statistics, or other applied research field; supplemented with three (3) years of experience in program evaluation and/or assessment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Master degree and experience in higher education

Remote/In-person Expectations

This position will require the individual to work in the office, with the flexibility to work some remotely/hybrid schedule upon completion of the first 6 months of initial onsite training and familiarizing with department work and operations in compliance with the requirements of the SLU Remote Staff Flexible Work Policy.
