Engineer – HVAC Testing & Balancing

Provide professional engineering services to meet client requests/needs and to manage the day-to-day activities of other project team members.

Performs assignments and responsibilities of varying degrees of complexity and diversity; may guide others as necessary on these assignments and responsibilities.

Provides perspectives that impact outcomes for the University utilizing both experience and expertise.

Coordinates, manages, and executes projects in conjunction with policies/project goals.

Prepares/finalizes budgets at various stages and carefully monitors to ensure projects stay within budget.

Solves complex problems and analyses, taking a new perspective on existing solutions.

Exercises judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information, determining gaps, providing recommendations, etc.

May lead large projects with varying risks and resource requirements.

Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.

Explains difficult or sensitive information and works to build consensus.

Ensures adequate and timely materials, supplies, equipment and/or fabrication to meet project goals.

Regularly collaborates with others inside and outside functional area (e.g., negotiating vendor fees, maintaining contractor relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

Manage project workloads, schedules, and budgets for campus TAB jobs.

Prepare final TAB project reports.

Provide engineering support to projects and TAB technicians.

Coordinate campus commissioning and testing and balancing efforts.

Review project documents to ensure mechanical HVAC systems meet campus energy/design standards.

Assist controls group with engineering support, design, and programming.

Contribute to campus energy standards.

Assist with energy conservation projects.


Supervision Exercised:

Supervise TAB technicians and engineering student interns, as required.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Manages project/contact schedules, staff and budgets.
