Posting Context Statement
The Vandal Health Clinic is a department under Student Affairs. This unit supports the health and wellbeing of students by providing a full range of healthcare needs on the Moscow Campus. The Vandal Health Clinic provides primary care and referral services to all students. This unit also supports students by verifying and enforcing compliance with the University of Idaho Health Insurance Requirement as a condition of enrollment for all degree seeking students. The department is responsible for management of enrollment and waiver processes, providing customer service and communications, and monitoring financial and accounting processes.
Position Overview
The EMR & Policy Manager provides clinical expertise and oversight for the operational management, working with IT staff and the Office of Information Technology staff to maximize the efficiency for the Vandal Health Clinic staff. This position works collaboratively with the Leadership Team at Vandal Health Clinic to establish, evaluate and update policies and procedures and establishes objectives to meet the requirements and accreditation standards applicable to Vandal Health Clinic to support federal and state laws and to ensure equity and inclusivity in application of policy.

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Two years experience working in a healthcare clinic or facility
  • Electronic Health/Medical Record Systems and Policy Management Software experience
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience working with HIPAA and FERPA, pertaining to the release of protected health information
  • Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches and data organization
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other
  • None
Additional Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in Health Informatics or closely related field
  • Experience in Higher Education, working with faculty, staff and students
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement and leadership, including the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, process, interpret and report on complex data
  • Experience learning new software applications as necessary and able to apply knowledge to assist in improving business processes
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
