The Opportunity:

As the Employment Services HR Assistant with Human Resource Services you will perform a variety of duties in support of the Graduate School and assigned HR Consultant in the implementation of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), including those for Academic Student Employees (ASEs). You will work with HRS Labor Relation s in providing consistent support to assigned areas related to CBAs including, but not limited to:

  • Apply established human resource guidelines, rules, policies and procedures to classified, exempt and/or academic staff 

  • Review develop and maintain accurate records and correspondence and maintaining electronic and paper files

  • Assist clients with general inquiries and partner with HRS subject matter experts on complex questions and support

  • Produce reports, gather and organize documentation, and coordinate schedules.

In this role you will need to maintain and ensure a confidential environment at all times.

 

This is a full time project position, located on the WSU Pullman campus. This position is expected to end on 03/31/2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension to complete the project and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment. Information regarding project appointments can be found at BPPM 60.23.1 and WAC 357-19-305.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resource or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience providing customer service both in person and/or over the phone.

  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft office programs.

  • Excellent attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the human resource functions of training & development, benefits, recruitment, classification, compensation, employee/labor relations.

  • Experience providing clerical – administrative support to multiple individuals.

  • Experience presenting group orientations and/or trainings. 

  • Experience interpreting and applying collective bargaining agreements.

Monthly Salary: Range 36 | $3,075.00 to $4,072 (Step A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
