Job Description

The Engineering Career Center at the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering is seeking an Employer Relations Coordinator Senior. Under general direction, this position strengthens relations with new and existing employers through strategic outreach and liaising with internal departments to fulfill employer needs.

Employer Relations Coordinator Senior serves as the primary contact for a set of Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) employers seeking to hire ASU students and alumni. Provides customized curated employer-specific guidance on recruiting avenues and other student engagement activities to advance and promote internship and new graduate recruiting pipeline activities. Develops customized multiple-department/multi-discipline employer events and programs to meet employer-specific objectives. Leads select employer-facing events.

Salary Range

$50,000 - $55,600 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Provides custom solutions to employers regarding career center programs, events, end-user systems, and interprets policies for employers to meet their engineering specific and holistic recruiting at ASU goals while increasing student employment opportunities.
  • Delivers concierge services to Corporate Affiliate Program members per the conditions of their membership.
  • Extensively documents employer activities and pulls reports from Handshake and Salesforce.
  • Contributes to employer data collection and dissemination.
  • Collects and writes dossiers on companies and their interactions with ASU to support department, pan-ASU, Dean and President-level initiatives.
  • Completes projects mainly focused on employers, including research and report creation related to employer or internal requests, Roadmap to Engagement, ASU and Fulton Recruitment, and Development activities.
  • Leads the career center teams for assigned large and small employer-facing events by developing master project plans, controlling event budgets, sending surveys, presenting recaps and results, and ensuring program goals and objectives are met.
  • Creates, manages, arranges logistics and implements all aspects of the engineering career center’s large employer-driven signature events, such as career fairs, and specialized employer events both in-person and online. Events include career fairs, on-campus interviews, employer industry days, company-sponsored competitions, and information sessions.
  • May coordinate employer visits with ASU stakeholders.
  • Completes funds requests, P-card reconciliations, and other budget-related documents for assigned employer-related events.
  • Leads the communication plan for targeted employers and students.
  • Maintains the Handshake posting system and Salesforce accounts. Troubleshoots employer issues and recommends system enhancements.
  • May hire, train and supervise department’s student workers. May train and lead student and staff volunteers for specific events.
  • Communicates frequently with ASU career centers and other constituents to coordinate employer events and needs.
  • Represents the Engineering Career Center on cross-departmental projects and at high stakes internal and external meetings.
  • Travels to ASU campuses and other locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience as a recruiter, human resources or hiring manager at a technology company.

  • Experience in basic project management and workflow.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

  • Experience in coordinating and prioritizing work and activities of self and others.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Evidence of effective communications.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
