Primary Purpose:
To function in a role as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) that can transport, care for and assist in the care of a diverse and multi-faceted patient population. To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the appropriate level of patient care according to the scope of practice approved by the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire and Transportation Services and the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS, Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati Southwest Ohio Protocols, Commission on Accreditation for Medical Transport Systems as well as organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

 

Knowledge and Skills

Education: High School Diploma, EMT-B Certification.

License & Certification: Current Ohio EMT-B Certification, National Registry preferred.  Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency(s) must be obtained during probation period.  Active, unrestricted Driver's License with no more than 4 accrued points.
Years of Experience: Completion of an Emergency Medical Technician program required. Minimum 3 years' experience as an EMT. Intra-facility transport experience preferred.
