Position Summary:

This is an Electrician-Journey position with the Facilities Planning and Management Division, Physical Plant, Electric Shop. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: installing, maintaining, and repairing all electrical installations on campus. Remodeling buildings in accordance with specifications. Maintaining and repairing electrical facilities to enhance the safety and comfort of all users. The work is performed under the general direction of the Electric Shop Supervisor.

Must have a current and valid State of Wisconsin Journeyman or Master Electrician License.

Additional Information:

- Knowledge of all methods, procedures, practices, tools, and instruments used in the electrical trade.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with the electrical trade including lockout/tagout.
- Knowledge of current electrical building codes.
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills and exercise a strong sense of priority and time management.
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams, schematics, and construction plans.
- Ability to maintain a professional and service oriented relationship with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to be creative, flexible, self-motivated, and quality oriented.
- Ability to present a neat, clean appearance at all times.
- Ability to do necessary bending, climbing, and heavy lifting associated with the electrical trade.
