Job Summary

As the Utilities Metering Technician you will perform electrical construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting on all utilities secondary electrical systems. These systems include but are not limited to lighting systems, control circuits, meter calibration, repair and installation of wiring circuits, and both AC and DC low voltage systems. This position will also do wiring, programming and maintaining campus utility meters to ensure meter data is reliable and accurate for data analysis and campus sustainability.  You will be respond to service calls, troubleshooting & repairs. 

 


What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • Three (2) - Three (3) years of experience in electrical construction, electrical maintenance, electrical repair, or electrical trouble shooting
    Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

 

Preferred:

  • Some – Two (2) years of experience in one of the following areas: 
    • industrial pipefitting, steam and chilled water distribution

 

Skills Needed:

  • Must have a high mechanical aptitude with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be familiar with basic use and both hand and power tools
  • Ability to perform basic math equations consistent with job functions
  • Capable of working in a variety of conditions and environments including confined spaces
