The EDW Architect I will create, implement, and maintain Keck Medicine of USC's Enterprise Data Platform & Information Architecture Framework. The key responsibility of this role is to create architecture, processes, procedures & protocols to support the full life cycle of the data of Keck's Analytics platform leveraging appropriate technologies. Design the Implementation of Keck's Data governance processes and protocols to secure and provision data at rest and in motion. Collaborate with Clinical, Research, Administrative system owners, external vendors, community partners, contractors, and other Health Science Campus leadership to understand their data needs and design, develop, implement Keck's data analytics platform.

Essential Duties:

  • EDW Framework: Provides Technology thought leadership in Modern Data Warehouse Framework for the KECKs Enterprise Data Analytics platform.
  • End To End Technology Architecture: Collaborate with Information Management & Information delivery team to provide end to end Technology architecture to support the complete data life cycle phases including core functions like Information management & Information delivery.
  • Documentation: Create, publish, maintain all the documents about the Architecture, Design, Road map & framework assets in the appropriate collaboration tools.
  • Priority Management: Must work several assignments at one time, follow/meet priorities, deadlines and time. The work is highly technical, requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and groups. The ability to work independently is also required.
  • Customer Service: Addresses customer questions, concerns, enhancement requests, communicates with customers, handles services problems and tickets politely and efficiently, always available for customers, follows procedures, utilizes problem solving skills, maintains pleasant and professional image. Customers may include both internal department users, vendors, and peers within IS.
  • Architecture Design: Understand KECKs Strategic plan, Data Strategy & Data Governance and conceptualize, architect Enterprise Data/Information Architecture framework that supports the execution of the Strategic plan successfully.
  • Other Duties and On-Call: Ability to fulfill On-Call requirements and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Bachelor's degree Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Combined work experience and education as equivalent
  • Req 11 years 11 to 15 years' relevant experience including programming in data modeling, OLAP, Hadoop, Cloudera, Talend, RDBMS, NoSQL, Hadoop, enterprise data warehouse projects. IF NO BACHELOR DEGREE: * 16 years of relevant business support and/or information technology support experience.
  • Req 2 years Experience with detailed knowledge of Enterprise Information architectures & Data Governance implementation.
  • Req 2 years Design of data infrastructure components for the complete data life cycle.
  • Req Experience with Structured Query Language (MS SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Req Demonstrated experience with RDBMS, NoSQL, Hadoop.
  • Req Hands-on expertise in programming with database services.
  • Req Good organization skills with ability to prioritize multiple activities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Req Strong customer service focus.
  • Req Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Req Requires a maturing level of analytical ability to find solutions to increasingly difficult technical or to determine economic feasibility or options available, and to nothing related to supervisory or leads assess time involved in system changes.
  • Req Thorough documentation skills.
  • Req Must be able to communicate the impact and solutions of application/system problems in business language.
  • Req Requires a professional approach in all situations.
  • Req Ability to work any hours to support 24/7 operations.
  • Req Must resolve problems entirely by either completing the work or gathering all of the resources needed for ultimate resolution and continuity of problem management.
  • Req Availability to travel between Keck Medicine of USC, USC, and other facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref 1 year Experience in Enterprise Information Architecture in the health care environment.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $95,680.00 - $158,230.00.
