Position Summary Information


Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of five health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students, 100 PhD students, and 20 Master’s students. The School has built a reputation for its continued pursuit of excellence, rigorous education and training programs, cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, progressive pharmacy practices, efficient business operations, and its outstanding faculty, staff, and students. Position Summary
This position provides consultation, maintenance, and support of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s information and educational technology systems. Systems include videoconferencing, web conferencing, classroom, and other technologies. They will directly support the faculty, staff, and students’ technology requests. This position will update technology and consumable inventories. The Technology Support Technician reports and tracks equipment issues and client requests through the School’s help desk ticketing system. They will monitor ongoing classes from the department’s master control area, providing real-time support for classes and meetings remotely. This position is the school administrator for the room reservation system. This position will also provide computer support to the various constituents of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy including faculty, staff, and students supporting the administrative, academic, and research operations of the School.
This position is located on the UNC – Chapel Hill campus.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the position’s role. 
- Computer coursework may be substituted year-for- year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
- Journey level requires an additional six months experience. 
- Advanced level requires an additional one year of experience.
