Job Title: Educational Design and Learning Management System (LMS) Coordinator

Summary of Position:    The Educational Design and LMS Coordinator assists Wesley Seminary faculty with matters pertaining to course design and development and with issues related to the Learning Management system. The person in this role serves as a liaison between Wesley Seminary and the University’s Center for Learning and Innovation on the one hand, and between Wesley Seminary and the Learning Management System team, on the other. They collaborate with these two teams to help build capacity, and create and manage processes that allow the Seminary faculty to deliver online instruction in a user friendly and quality environment that promotes student success.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate professional development opportunities to promote best practices in educational design and instructional delivery 
  • Implement processes that promote best practices in educational design and instructional delivery
  • Oversee, manage, and track ongoing course development and course redesign projects 
  • Research the application of new technologies, pedagogies, andragogy, and instructional strategies in the delivery of quality learning experiences
  • Support assessment mechanisms that are built in the Learning Management System 

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Ed.D, DMin, or PhD in education, ministry or related field
  • Masters Degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field

Experience

  • Application of non-traditional adult higher education theory and practice
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in teaching and/or curriculum development in an adult learning context
  • Experience designing content in a LMS
  • Experience using eLearning softwares, such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline

Required Skills

  • Superior oral and written communication skills in English, Spanish, and/or French
  • Strong analytical and problems-solving skills
  • Ability to relate and interact well with pastors, ministerial students, Seminary faculty/staff, and IWU community
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality work on time
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
