Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Maryland Robotics Center (MRC), an interdisciplinary research center in the Institute for Systems Research within the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, is seeking an Educational Coordinator to support, oversee, and implement the daily operations of the newly approved undergraduate Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) Minor. 
The Coordinator conducts RAS Minor recruitment activities and information sessions for interested students, reviews application materials, advises undergraduate students regarding enrollment credits, curriculum issues, university and school regulations and policies, and gives course permissions, as needed. The position also works closely with Advisors in the Clark School to share important updates about the program, keep up to date on student involvement and performance, and resolve any scheduling conflicts. The Coordinator maintains regular program audits, conducts surveys and assessments, collects data, and generates program reports as requested by the Education Committee, and the Center’s Director and Assistant Director.
The Coordinator also supports the Center’s engagement with undergraduate and graduate students and contributes to MRC outreach and other educational activities such as research internships, the MRC Pathways program, the MRC Graduate Research Assistantship program, and Amazon Lab126 Fellowship.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Engineering, Business Administration or related field required
Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in higher education, undergraduate advising, and/or student services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Enthusiastic with a positive approach to work, the ability to build an excellent rapport with students, and a commitment to their educational development.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and oral and written presentation skills.
• Ability to review and analyze processes and procedures and develop/adjust tools and resources while ensuring successful and efficient implementation.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently, and on a team, on complex projects and demonstrate competency, diplomacy, and a positive attitude in all interactions. 
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact.
• Ability to work and problem solve in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment, prioritizing tasks, thinking proactively, and using good judgment and experience to make decisions and maintain deadlines.
• Strong customer service skills to interact effectively and building strong working relationships with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community and complex environment.
Preferences:
• Familiarity with State and University procedures 
• Ability to effectively work with university faculty, staff, administrators, and other campus officials.
