The Education Consultant will collaborate with schools/districts, community agencies, businesses, and families through face-to-face and web-based applications. To process and respond to referrals, complete intake inventories, obtain parent/guardian consent, conduct screenings, transition-related assessments, student mentoring, and schedule individual student diagnostic evaluations and interventions between teachers/parents and appropriate KUMDC professionals. The Education Consultant follows up with stakeholders after services have been provided to disseminate report summaries and ensure needs have been met. The Education Consultant works with all KUMDC team members to implement effective practices. The Education Consultant has expert skills and knowledge of exceptional student education services and supports for individuals who have complex intellectual, behavioral, physical, communication, and health needs, to augment school-district efforts to improve graduation, transition, and postsecondary outcomes.
