Education Program Manager for the Department of Ophthalmology who manages and oversees all department continuing medical education and continuing optometric education needs; responsible for overall strategic planning, management and development of educational conferences, seminars and events; develops business plans and budgets for conferences; manages business and logistical aspects of conferences and events; meets with faculty course director to develop program and educational objectives for every event; oversees and ensures compliance with educational requirements and regulations; prepares and submits CME and CE applications to the appropriate organizations (The Center for Continuing Medical Education at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Ohio Vision Professionals Board); ; leads strategic planning discussions to develop overall direction for meetings, conferences and seminars that the department will sponsor and/or participate in; responsible for securing funding from external sources; develops event overviews to outline goals, objectives and specifications of meetings; serves as a contact and liaison for speakers and registrants; manages and coordinates the development and preparation of program materials; responsible for on-site management of conferences and meetings, including faculty, visiting speakers, attendees and conference sponsors; manages annual resident research symposium with collection and distribution of materials, creating schedule, and securing judges; plan and execute all department social events, including graduation celebration, summer welcome picnic, holiday party, and staff appreciation days; plans, organizes and oversees fellowship and optometric resident recruitment, new house staff orientation in collaboration with the Fellowship & Optometric Residency Directors; tracks distribution of learner and faculty assignments for online evaluation program; provides feedback and rotation evaluations to Fellowship & Residency Directors; serves as a liaison between directors, faculty, department administrator and national organizations; assisting in execution of learner and faculty recruitment as needed.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; 4 years of relevant experience in program planning and administration required; administrative experience planning and coordinating educational programing preferred; computer literacy required with considerable experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
