Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute (PSFEI) is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual for an Education Program Associate to assist with delivery of PSFEI adult, non-credit facilities management courses for Commonwealth of PA, federal government, and non-profit contract clients for approximately 50 classes and 2,000 students annually. The Education Program Associate will collaborate with the department’s education program manager and internal and external instructors to ensure successful delivery of program courses. This position will manage registration, student information, course materials, attendance, certificate issuance, etc. through PSU Conferences and Institutes, Cvent, and PSFEI’s Course Administration System. The position will coordinate course arrangements and delivery of course materials with building managers, regional contacts, and instructors for all classes, and arrange training venues and necessary audio/visual needs as requested by instructors. The position is based in State College; however, one-day and overnight travel to class sites to deliver course content, distribute materials, complete registrations, and network with clients is required. In addition to the education responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to analyze utility data and compile, edit, format, proofread, and distribute complex annual reports to PSFEI clients, and manage the hiring process for the department’s student and part-time personnel. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and database applications is required. This position requires a high level of self-direction and personal accountability and ability to work in a demanding, deadline focused, dynamic environment, and consistently produce deliverables within agreed upon timelines. In addition, the successful candidate must be highly organized with excellent time management skills and have the ability to shift priorities and multitask in order to meet aggressive deadlines and should constantly strive to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts and technologies. Beyond degree and experience requirements, the successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. The Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute has been providing technical and education assistance to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania facilities since 1947. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding.
