Job Summary/Basic Function | Advise students interested in studying abroad and provides support to faculty as they work with Faculty-Led Short-Term Study Abroad students. This position will assist the Education Abroad Program Director with the day-to-day operations of the Education Abroad Office and Center for Global Engagement. |
Specific Responsibilities | Advises students throughout the application process on education abroad opportunities and application requirements for both ISU and the host university. Assist in promoting the Education Abroad Program through outreach to the university community. Advising may include information about academic components of study abroad as it pertains to a student’s major/minor/elective requirements, financial aid, scholarships, credit articulation, and other topics. Maintains expert understanding of university policies pertaining to education abroad. Responds to inquiries from students, parents, faculty and others regarding program policies, procedures, and requirements, making referrals as appropriate. Assist students post-acceptance for study abroad regarding program fees and invoicing, Financial Aid guidance, Study Abroad Office Scholarship process, and academic planning for course selection. Participates in marketing and recruitment activities, including, but not limited to, Education Abroad fairs and events, information sessions, and classroom presentations. Maintains accurate applicant data, runs reports, streamlines processes, and manages information through the Slate2 CRM application site. Oversees the credit articulation process from pre-departure to post-study abroad and maintains an accurate database of previously articulated courses working with our Office of Registration and individual colleges. Maintains effective relationships with faculty, academic and administrative departments, as well as overseas partners and program providers. Acts as liaison between the overseas partner/program providers and students for traditional study abroad and faculty-led short-term study abroad programming. Ensures program quality through continual self-development through self-directed learning, professional development, and site visits. |

Essential Duties and Responsibilities | Advise students interested in studying abroad and provides support to faculty as they work with Faculty-Led Short-Term Study Abroad students. This position will assist the Education Abroad Program Director with the day-to-day operations of the Education Abroad Office and Center for Global Engagement. Contributes to the development of strategies and processes that support the CGE-Education Abroad Office. Duties include: Slate2 Customer Relationship Management (CRM), EdAb social media, marketing and promotion of ISU-EdAb programming, planning and recruiting students for study abroad programs, advising students on program options, and financial planning. As an Education Abroad Program Coordinator, they will advise prospective study abroad and faculty-led students. The incumbent will represent the university to foreign partners and foster institutional-level relationships. Additional responsibilities include the identification of scholarships, and grant opportunities to support study abroad programs and students. |
