Detailed Position Information
The Educational Psychology Program at the University of Alabama invites applications for a clinical assistant professor position to expand its Educational Neuroscience Initiative. We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual, who has research and teaching experience in educational and cognitive neuroscience, educational psychology, and learning sciences.

The Educational Neuroscience Initiative at the University of Alabama involves an Educational Neuroscience PhD Concentration and a BSc Program (http://edneuro.ua.edu), under the Educational Psychology Program. The PhD concentration and the undergraduate program offer courses in research methods (e.g., electrophysiology, neuroimaging) and topics (e.g., reading, language, mathematics, and moral development) in cognitive and educational neuroscience.

Our program has a hands-on approach to training, with abundant research opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. We have several active labs engaged in educational neuroscience research (e.g., mathematical cognition, moral psychology, autism, language development and bilingualism). These labs bring together researchers from a wide range of disciplines. Our labs are equipped with state of the art traditional and mobile EEG, fNIRS, tDCS, eye-tracking and virtual reality systems. We also have an MRI Research Facility on campus. The University of Alabama has an active community of researchers conducting a wide array of brain, learning and cognition research. The university supports and encourages interdisciplinary research and collaboration both within the campus and across other institutions

Responsibilities:
• Teach courses in educational neuroscience and psychology
• Organize research experiences for undergraduate students
• Support on-going efforts in program development
• Participate in program initiatives, faculty decisions, and advising
• Provide consultation to students and faculty
• Serve on thesis and dissertation committees
• Seek service and teaching grants

Minimum Qualifications
• Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., educational neuroscience, educational psychology, neuroscience, psychology, human development, cognitive science, learning sciences, computer science, STEM education)
• Demonstrated general knowledge and experience in teaching educational neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, learning sciences, and/or educational psychology
• Interest in educational applications broadly defined
• Ability to work with students and faculty in a variety of disciplines
• Strong writing, teaching, and communication skills
• Commitment to working with diverse populations·

Preferred Qualifications
• Evidence of expertise in one or more neuroimaging techniques (e.g., EEG/ERP, fMRI, fNIRS, MEG). • Participation in national professional organizations.
