Editor in Chief, MFA Invisible City

Job Summary:

For USF MFA Graduate Students. The Editor in Chief position is for Invisible City, USF's graduate literary journal, supported through the MFA in Writing Program.

Full Job Description:

Duties include:

• Keep track of budget and all associated accounts

• Manage the Invisible City email account (it is a busy one)

• Work with Graduate Student Senate to complete all needed forms, request funds for events, do yearly training (in January), renew organization status

• Meet with faculty advisor and P&D Editor to determine content of each issue, keep faculty advisor in the loop on all major decisions and ideas

• Planning and executing editorial meetings + general meetings each semester

• Uploading author bios and finished pieces to the google drive so P&D Editor can efficiently update to website

• Nominate writers for major awards (Pushcart, etc.) and organize readings for issue contributors

• Make all final decisions on piece acceptances; determining if author edits are required and what exactly they will be

• Your busiest time is all the time but especially near the end of each reading cycle and through to when the issue is live

• Looking for: someone who is able to look ahead and thinks big picture; highly organized; detail-orientated; a clear communicator

18.07-21.00
