As the editor and colorist, you will play an integral part in the post-production of university events and promotional and branded content by approaching all assignments with enthusiasm and creativity. In this position you will be responsible for organizing your workload, managing priorities, meeting deadlines, and keeping the post-production director updated on the status of each project. You will be expected to report any issues that might impact progress or quality and to add music, sound effects, and graphics to produce high quality videos under deadlines.

In the position of editor and colorist, you will oversee outputting unapproved media, video rough cuts, and fine cuts for review by the director of visual media, legal, and appropriate clients. Responsibilities include performing video quality checks and deliverables to ensure all standards and appropriate specs are met and ready for upload and archive, defining extensive archiving procedures, and assisting with new equipment research and budget proposals. Additionally, you will receive and implement notes from producers, senior leadership, and other project clients and attend staff meetings to discuss production schedule and projects.

Minimum Qualifications:     

  • Bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant post-production experience
  • Expert in Avid Media Composer with ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of production
  • Should possess a strong working knowledge of the latest editing styles, techniques, and equipment
  • Should be willing to continually research, seek out inspiration, and provide recommendations on keeping content innovative and creative
  • Works well within a fast-paced environment and must be a problem solver; knowledgeable of the different codecs and the roles they play in video and streaming media delivery

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with audio mixing software

Travel Required:

  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
