Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Edit/Media Spec I Website Coordinator for the J Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum. This is a two-year position that helps coordinate planning, organization and implementation of the new Dodge Collection Website, an encyclopedic resource about the Zimmerli’s Norton and Nancy Dodge Collection of Nonconformist Art from the Soviet Union.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Administers the website implementation.
  • Organizes and oversees photo sessions of the works from the collection.
  • Conducts correspondence with scholars contributing texts for the website, and coordinates translation and editing of such texts.
  • Communicates with website designers as needed to provide the necessary information for the website implementation and will assist with obtaining copyright permissions.
  • Performs other tasks related to the implementation and promotion of the Dodge website.
  • An active and visible member of the Zimmerli staff and maintain the highest professional standards in the field, as well as advance the institution’s mission.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Minimum Education and Experience
  • B.A. in any relevant field.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work well with colleagues, other employees, artists, donors, and lenders.
  • Familiarity and experience with appropriate, current computer programs and technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.A. in art history and/or museum studies.
  • Adequate knowledge of Russian language
  • One year of museum’s experience.
  • Familiarity of Soviet and Post-soviet culture and history.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work well with colleagues, other employees, artists, donors, and lenders.
  • Familiarity and experience with computer programs and technology, such as TMS (The Museum System).
