Job Description

Under the direction of EdPlus Enrollment Center leadership, the EdPlus Enrollment Coach Senior develops and coordinates graduate and undergraduate student recruitment and enrollment functions to include recruitment campaigns, enrollment support, and cultivating collaborative relationships with academic departments and other stakeholders. Controls planning and ensures that recruitment program goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities. The ideal EdPlus Enrollment Coach Senior will be an effective communicator who brings an empathic, persuasive, service-oriented approach in a structured, fast-paced and supportive environment with established guidelines. Assists leadership through data analysis to inform decisions.

Essential Duties

  • Serves as point of contact for prospective students as an effective and persuasive communicator who is able to stimulate and motivate while being helpful and responsive to their needs and concerns.
  • Maintains contact with prospective students; assists with enrollment through navigating admissions and registration processes and procedures.
  • Responds to student questions and concerns in a timely manner working at a faster-than-average pace.
  • Consistently performs detail-oriented work quickly, correctly and efficiently.
  • Works collaboratively with University academic units and services to facilitate student support in a manner that maintains and grows relationships.
  • Maintains a positive, “How can I help?” attitude.
  • Assists in the development, editing and distribution of recruitment items, brochures, and documents.
  • Works closely with manager to meet recruitment goals.
  • Assesses recruitment programs and events for effectiveness.
  • May attend local and statewide seminars, events, workshops and conferences.
  • Recommends and monitors compliance with department policies and procedures.
  • Supports the business, agenda and needs of others including department management, coaching team and students being served.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced environment subject to tight deadlines and potentially conflicting priorities.
  • Communicates effectively verbally as well as reads and writes to successfully perform essential functions. A persuasive, teaching style of communication is required to effectively communicate policies, programs, and systems.
  • Leads by example with first-hand knowledge of area of expertise while operating in a team environment.
  • Initiates and prepares administrative reports.
  • Analyzes data, identifies trends and articulates results to inform decisions.
  • Provides mentorship through example to EdPlus Enrollment Coaches.
  • Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND two (2) years previous experience in one or more of the following: advising, student recruitment/retention, related student services, phone-based sales, customer service, including one (1) year of enrollment coaching experience, OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with EdPlus at ASU Enrollment Center policies and procedures.
  • Evidence of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Experience in an institution of higher education supporting programs of study for a diverse student population.
  • Ability to successfully perform detail-oriented tasks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices pertaining to the assigned department.
  • Experience in pulling, analyzing and applying pertinent data sets.
  • Evidence of an effective verbal and written communication style that is persuasive, motivating and supportive.
  • Experience in being able to self-direct once projects are identified, and perform as a high-functioning team member in a position that requires flexibility and resiliency.
  • Experience in designing presentation materials with an understanding of the audience.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office applications including email, spreadsheets, presentations and documents.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Experience with recruiting high school students, transfer students, and graduate students.
  • Experience in phone-based sales and customer service.
  • Experience managing quickly-changing priorities which may include resolution of conflicts.
  • Experience in using critical thinking skills to make decisions and/or analyze and report data/results of tests conducted.

Working Environment

EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
