Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma. Child Development Accreditation (CDA) or 12 equivalent college credit hours in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Special Education. Additional experience may not be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade NB. Wage Minimum $11.30/hr.

Position Description

The Assistant Facilitator will assist the Lead Facilitator in the planning and implementation of a curriculum consistent withthe philosophy of the Early Learning Campus including Reggio Emilia inspired activities. Responsibilities also include assisting with age and ability-appropriate long-term projects and research-based activities.The Assistant Facilitator will apply guidelines established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and participate in classroom self-assessment and improvement procedures using the Infant/Toddler or Early Childhood Rating Scales. The Assistant Facilitator is responsible to adhere to KY Child Care Regulation requirements as set forth by the Cabinet for Families and Children at all times, and to the requirements of the USDA Food Program.The Assistant will also follow and support ELC policies and procedures and perform Lead duties in the absence of the Lead Facilitator.Kentucky State Child licensing standards require all new ELC staff to complete 6 hours of child care orientation within the first 90 days of employment, complete a total of 15 hours of state-approved training each year before hire date anniversary, and maintain current TB test

  • Teach the children in the classroom using daily interactions and routines.
  • Communicate with families in a supportive, professional and respectful manner.
  • Apply class guidelines established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
  • The Assistant Facilitator is responsible to perform lead duties in the absence of the Lead Facilitator.
