Job Summary
The Family Resource Center is seeking an Early Care and Education Center Site Director. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The Family Resource Center (FRC) Early Care and Education (ECE) Center Site Director (Site Director) is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Dixon Kits ECE Center, a 12 slot, high-quality, campus-based early care and education program on the Corvallis campus. This position requires specialized education, skills, and training to administer and lead early care and education (serving children birth to 30 months) and family programing, service efforts, and related initiatives. The Site Director is responsible for training, supervising, and mentoring ECE professionals and OSU student interns.
The Dixon Kits ECE Center Site Director reports to the FRC Director of Campus ECE within the Division of Student Affairs. This position is informed by the fields of Early Childhood Education, Child Development and Human Development and maintains a working knowledge and compliance with the Oregon Child Care Division licensing standards and is knowledgeable about the trends and best practices in the field of early care and education.

Key Responsibilities
75% Program Administration: Plans, develops, coordinates, administers, executes, and assesses all aspects of the infant/toddler program, including maintaining the appropriate state licensure and quality assurance certifications/accreditations (NAEYC and QRIS/Spark 5), providing/organizing staff (teacher) training and development, recruitment and outreach to families, and disseminating program materials and information. Establishes, manages, and maintains collaborations and partnerships with various OSU departments, units, colleges, and programs as well as resources outside of OSU in support of children and families accessing the Center and in support of students interning in the Center.
20% Supervision: Provides supervision including plan, assign and approve work; respond to grievances; hire/fire (or effectively recommend); prepare and sign performance evaluations/reviews of employees including classified and/or professional faculty. Supervision and assessment of OSU HDFS interns.
5% Other duties as assigned
What You Will Need
  • BS or BA in Human Development, Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a program administrator (Director, Assistant Director, etc.) in a licensed early care and education setting responsible for management and supervision of adults.
  • 1+ year of experience in a birth to three ECE program
  • Demonstrable contributions to promoting and enhancing diversity in early care and education.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Must be enrolled in the Oregon’s Office of Child Care Central Background Registry by time of appointment.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
  • Master’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Human Development & Family Sciences, or related field.
  • 5+ years a program administrator in a licensed early care and education setting responsible for management and supervision of adults.
  • 3+ years of experience in birth to three ECE program
  • Experience with ECE quality assurance and program accreditation.
  • Experience teaching or working with children who have special developmental needs.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
On-site active engagement in an early care and education context interacting with adults and children including work outdoors. Center hours will be 8am-4:30pm. Some evening/weekend hours could be required.
