Position Summary
The eSports Coach (Graduate Assistant) is responsible for coaching the eSports team during the Fall and Spring semesters. eSports offers competitions at the Club Sport level in the following games: Smash Bros, Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Street Fighter V, and others. This position reports to the Director of Sports and Wellness in the Club Sports Program.
This is a student position open to current UIW graduate students.
Essential Functions
Essential functions include:
-Attend all meetings;
-Direct practices;
-Assist in the running of UIW eSports discord server
-Train athletes on strategies and techniques;
-Motivate student-athletes;
-Supervise travel, competitions and meets;
-Responsible for keeping balanced budgets;
-Ensure student-athletes are maintaining GPA;
-Assist with running and leading funding raising events;
-Create new relationships with sponsors as well as attend community service events;
-Work with Club Sports supervisor to better the program by, but not limited to, assisting with marketing/ recruiting for the team;
-Annual review following each season worked;
-Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
-Knowledge of multiple eSports games
-Ability to plan efficient practices involving individual instruction and team development;
-Commitment to student-athlete welfare and academic success;
-Commitment to University rules;
-Ability to assess team needs and develop goal-oriented action plans; 
-Excellent organizational and time-management skills; 
-Excellent marketing skills;
-Ability to meet during work hours with athletes, trainers, and supervisors during the academic year;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Current UIW graduate student
Required Work Experience
At least one (1) year coaching experience or participation in a college eSports
program
Preferred Qualifications
Successful competition and/or coaching in several different eSport games
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
CPR and First Aid Certification (if expired, must be completed within 3 months of employment)
Work Hours
-15 hours per week required;
-Practices and games/tournaments are on nights and weekends
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
