POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. Pfizer's Pathology laboratory is a highly innovative, functional and integrated discipline contributing to the advancement of the overall portfolio. You will provide support for Global Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.

Your significant experience of applying knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of the discipline will make you a critical member of the team. Your skill and knowledge will help in making decisions that require choosing among limited options. You are proactive in contributing to all team discussions and creating an environment of collaboration.

Through your expert knowledge in anatomic and/or clinical pathology techniques and processes, you will primarily and independently conduct all aspects of Quality Control of anatomic and/or clinical pathology data, specimens and reports.

Based on your qualification, you may also flex to independently perform all aspects of rodent and non-rodent routine necropsy and/or histology procedures to support investigative, exploratory, and regulatory studies of high complexity.

You will independently support, develop, trouble-shoot and validate new procedures and technologies of high complexity in the field of anatomic and/or clinical pathology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all regulatory responsibilities in compliance with applicable regulatory standards including Good Laboratory Practices and animal welfare regulations.
  • Perform Quality Control of anatomic and/or clinical pathology data, specimens and reports independently
  • Adheres to all study report timelines
  • Based on your qualification, may flex to support necropsy, histology of exploratory, regulatory and investigative studies
  • Contribute to laboratory procedures and Controlled Documents
  • Contribute to DSRD publication data integrity Quality Control
  • Interact with and train individuals
  • Independently develop, refine, document methods/processes/reporting for assays of high complexity in the field of anatomic and/or clinical pathology (e.g. new sampling methods, non-standard endpoints) based on their scientific knowledge

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. Biology or related field with ≥ 1 year applicable experience .
  • Knowledge of relevant disciplines (i.e. general toxicology, laboratory animal handling and care)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining a high quality of data and timely delivery of results
  • Well organized, self-motivated, ability to multitask and with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, technical, and scientific skills, with a willingness to continuously learn and grow in their role

PREFERRED QUALIIFICATIONS

  • HT (ASCP) certification or eligible
  • Experience in toxicology or drug discovery is preferred but is not essential

Work Location Assignment:Flexible

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
