Job Description

As part of ET, the Drupal Developer Sr. will work closely and collaboratively with project managers, UX designers, other developers, engineers and customers to design, create, develop, enhance and maintain web content, tools, functionality and brand standards based on customer requests to ensure consistency in content in accordance with established web standards, accessibility, UX guidelines and best practices. This position requires previous experience in Drupal 7, 8, 9 or 10.

Essential Duties

  • Develops site architectures within our CMS framework. 
  • Creates content templating, implements designs, and manages the technical aspects of implementing a standards-based user experience. 
  • Configures forms, feeds and APIs within the system. 
  • Configures hosting and DNS configurations. 
  • Advanced development and management of custom modules and plugins, CMS theming and site building. 
  • Stays abreast of and applies web application accessibility best practices and standards. 
  • Promotes accessibility practices on teams and educates others in their use. 
  • Implements thorough, systematic troubleshooting and debugging protocols based on platform and domain knowledge. 
  • Collaborates with customers and product and service teams and others within Enterprise Technology and the university web community. 
  • Effectively communicates with team members, clients and stakeholders. 
  • Assists in leading a team of developers and contributes to their technical growth. 
  • Self-motivating. Seeks growth opportunities and stretches. 
  • Actively cultivates skills. 
  • Effectively organizes and manages own tasks, and priorities in alignment with product and service leadership and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related. 5 years web, graphic design and database including creating and updating table structures and views as well as CSS development; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Web accessibility best practices for WCAG 2.2 compliance
  • HTML5, CSS3
  • Git and GitHub, especially working with multiple branches
  • JIRA or similar ticketing system
  • Test Driven Development
  • Mobile and/or responsive web design
  • Databases and SQL
  • Knowledge of OOP principles in PHP 8.x and greater
  • Current on secure web programming techniques
  • Ability to model empathy, compassion and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to help foster a safe psychological space for all teammates where everyone can thrive
  • Ability to stimulate changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
