Drupal Developer (Remote)

The Drupal Developer is a full-time employment opportunity and reports to the Director of Digital Experience. The Drupal Developer will oversee front-end and back-end module development. This role necessitates a mix of coding (PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, and so on) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The Drupal Developer is well-versed in industry developments as well as content management systems.


  • Active participation in all UI/UX decisions

  • Contribute actively to the continuous development of process and product

  • Enhance Drupal development quality

  • Assist in the creation of an effective, responsive design.

  • Provide solutions to issues and suggestions for improvements.

  • Design and implement new features to the system

  • Ensure optimal performance

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in the code

  • Provide innovative and new features to keep the system up to date

  • Collaborate with front-end developers for functional and intuitive implementation


  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages

  • Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle

  • Ability to translate client’s needs to technical specifications

  • Experience with Drupal's theme layer

  • Experience with Drupal's module system and experience writing or extending modules

  • Experience with Drupal's Migrate framework

  • Experience with Drupal JavaScript behaviors

  • Experience working with Drupal’s main modules, such as CTools, Views, Rules, GitHub, Cloudflare, and so on

  • Technology Stack: Php, MySql JQuery/Javascipt

  • Experience writing semantic, responsive HTML, CSS

  • Experience writing object-oriented PHP

  • Experience with Drupal's Migrate framework

  • Experience implementing accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG)

  • Experience developing responsive websites

  • Knowledge of layout grid systems

  • Strong architectural ability including familiarity with data, display, and information architecture

  • Ability to create custom Drupal modules

  • Strong troubleshooting and solution skills to fix bugs

  • Excellent time and project management skills


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • 4+ years of Drupal Theming and Front-End/Back-End Development experience


  • Experience with Acquia provided tooling and development workflows for Drupal 8/9 preferred

  • Familiarity with building and managing a content management system (CMS) including managing regular site updates and back-end upgrades preferred.

RATE OF PAY: $86,870 - $112,932

COMPENSATION TYPE: Salary at 1.0 full-time equivalence (FTE)
