The Donor Experience Officer (DXO), reporting to/through the Senior Associate Vice President for Development, works as part of a high-performing, donor-centered team responsible for assisting the Division of Advancement and Alumni to create deeper connections with its donors and achieve its annual fundraising goals. Using a variety of channels (email, social, video conferencing, and phone) and new technologies, the DXO focuses on discovery and qualification of an assigned portfolio of prospects and donors by providing outreach and information that increases their engagement and giving with the University of Houston

  • Manage a portfolio of 500 donors and prospects. Cultivate relationships with these donors via visits, email, phone, social, video conferencing, texting, and new technologies.
  • Meet and exceed a set number of metrics including but not limited to: visits, solicitations, dollars raised, and referrals to major gift portfolios documented in the University's Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Provide information on university developments and programs relative to their interests. Share upcoming opportunities to attend events, volunteer, participate in alumni association activities/services, or otherwise deepen their engagement with the university.
  • Responsible for discovering new annual giving and major gift prospects by promoting philanthropic opportunities, such as university and college giving priorities, and alumni association membership.
  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of the university, such as admissions, athletics, colleges, and continuing education. Develop network of contacts through the university to access additional information. Develop knowledge of resource hub (Homebase) of relevant content to share with donors.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the division including Development, Annual Giving, Advancement Communications and Marketing, Prospect Management and Research, Volunteer Leadership and Athletics teams.
  • Identify and engage with alumni influencers in the digital and social media realms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    Bachelors and No experience

    Education; Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Experience: No experience required.
