Position Summary
The Donor Engagement Manager helps to plan, organize, and execute donor-centered programs which include, but are not limited to, donor correspondence and communications, events, customized and standardized stewardship reporting, as well as engagement and recognition initiatives to foster relationships with the ACPHS community of supporters. The Donor Engagement Manager will also design and implement a creative, comprehensive, and integrated stewardship program which results in stronger brand connections, better donor retention rates, and higher lifetime giving value as well as identify programmatic and operational improvements to ensure the department’s continued growth and enhancement.

Required Qualifications
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for successful implementation of an integrated stewardship plan to increase brand connection, retention rates and increased lifetime giving value. This includes managing connections between students, staff and faculty and donors to the College and documenting those relationships and serving as a representative of the Office of Institutional Advancement.
  • Oversee the execution of donor recognition and stewardship strategies including events, reports, hosting campus visits and managing mailings
  • Support the President’s Office staff for stewardship of major gifts and donor briefings
  • Lead all Reunion planning and coordination including, but not limited to, vendor relations, coordination of collateral, speakers, food, transportation, and timelines while working with campus partners (events staff, student affairs, faculty and admissions) to execute reunion planning and activities.
  • Manage planning and execution of alumni and donor stewardship gatherings and events, both on campus and off campus, including, but not limited to, the development of invitations, coordination of volunteers, collateral, refreshments, transportation, and timelines.
  • Manage the Alumni Awards committee, nominations process and awards presentation

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in donor relations, stewardship, fundraising, and/or alumni engagement.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of stewardship programs and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills including ability to engage and persuade current and prospective donors; ability to understanding alumni/donor intent in giving and honoring those intentions.
  • Must be personable, energetic, and confident.
  • Demonstrated communication, listening and presentation skills including the ability to develop brand connection and demonstrate institutional knowledge / integrity.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Ability to implement strategic plans and meet department metrics including.
  • Knowledge of database system such as Raiser’s Edge
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Demonstrated organizational, attention to detail and analytical skills including ability to track and analyze donor intent and motivation and ability to make recommendations on findings.
  • Ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently, and flexibility to manage shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule and travel, if needed.

Additional Information:
This hybrid position is based in Albany, NY. This role is required to be on-site at least 1-2 days per week. All remote work must be performed in a state in which the College is registered to do business which includes New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maryland, Texas, and California. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. The position requires travel, depending on the needs of the College. The position also requires availability and willingness to enthusiastically work evenings and weekends, as needed, for success. Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Salary Range $59000 - $78000 annually
