Division Director, Obstetrical Anesthesia

Position Description:

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) seeks a collaborative physician-leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Obstetric Anesthesiology within the Department of Anesthesiology.

Position Summary

The Division Director of Obstetrics will oversee all anesthesia services within the Division of Obstetric Anesthesiology to ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality care to patients. The incumbent will have a proven track record as a strategic and accomplished leader who is well-versed in best practices. The Division Director of Obstetric Anesthesiology will continue strengthening the clinical services at the Froedtert Birth Center and contribute to advancing obstetric anesthesiology in patient care, education, and research.

Responsibilities

  • Operational oversight of the OB Anesthesiology Division.
  • Advocate and catalyst to develop and grow research.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical services, continually fostering best practices and innovation while maintaining strong educational activities.
  • Daily interaction with Obstetrics & Gynecology and Anesthesia residents and fellows, with a significant commitment to the education of future leaders in Obstetric Anesthesiology.
  • Develop models of care that promote quality of care and stewardship of resources.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for the OB division.
  • Support departmental and division clinical performance improvement and quality processes.
  • Complete other duties as delegated by the Chair.

Position Requirements:

  • MD, MD/PhD, or DO from an accredited institution with board certification in Anesthesiology
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Wisconsin
