Job Duties
The College of Nursing invites applicants for the Evelyn Perry Distinguished Professorship. Candidates for the Perry Professorship will mentor junior faculty and students and advance the research mission of the College of Nursing. The ideal candidate will promote excellence in scholarly education and scholarship activities (e.g., seeking and securing external funding, peer-reviewed publications, etc..) with the goal of improving the health of the citizens of eastern North Carolina. The successful candidate will be appointed to a three-year term with the ability to renew the professorship for one or more successive terms.

Minimum Education/Experience
The position requires a PhD. Candidate must be at the Associate Professor or full Professor level and recognized as a scholar in Nursing.

Candidates should submit a detailed plan for use of the professorship support, and also a budget, and their curriculum vitae. Applicants should explain the contribution that their proposal will make to the college, students, and citizens of eastern North Carolina. The professorship should involve contributions to teaching, service, and research and scholarship following the below budgetary considerations.
The professorship will provide monies that include $6,000 annually. The use of the award is restricted to the budget submitted with the proposal and directly related to the roles/responsibilities as outlined in the detailed plan. A stipend of $6000 is allowed.
