Position Summary Information


Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.

This is a 9 month position, mid August – Mid May with the option to work in the summer, as needed.

Principal Accountabilities

Principal Accountabilities

1. Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the dish machine.
2. Sort and stack clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to serving line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering.
3. Removes trash and garbage to dumpster.
4. Set up or break down and clean dishwashing area.
5. Sweep/mop floors
6. Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
7. Sweep and clean loading dock.
8. Must notify Manager anytine dish machine is not working properly.
9. Check in and put up freight.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

1. Ability to understand and perform oral instructions.
2. Ability to perform physically demanding activities including walking, stooping, and lifiting up to 30 pounds.
3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and supervisors.
4. Ability to learn knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service.
5. Ability to care for and use basic food equipment.
6. Ability to learn routine methods and practices of food prepartation and service.
