Full-time Job Announcement

Position: Discovery Services Librarian

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Division of Academic Affairs

Reports to: Director of Library Services

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide access to the library's electronic resources, catalog the library's print materials, and maintain holding information in OCLC.
  • Supervise circulation and provide reference services to patrons.
  • Review, select, interview, train, and schedule FWS assistants.
  • Manage evening library operations.
  • Work with various vendors to resolve any access issues that arise.
  • Add, update, or delete portfolios for electronic collections on a monthly basis.
  • Set up and run jobs in the library automation system to ensure various functions operate smoothly.
  • Manage OpenAthens to ensure electronic resources authenticated properly for remote access.
  • Manage interlibrary loan services using OCLC.
  • Create and maintain Local Data Records for serials in OCLC from all campuses and centers in order to contribute ATC holdings to the GOLD Union List.
  • Manage metadata creation and enrichment processes to enhance the accuracy and relevance of search results.
  • Design analytics related to the library management system and services
  • Teach library instruction session face-to-face and virtually.
  • Provide reports to the Director of Library Services as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution *and* Two (2) years of experience in an academic library.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Librarian at a two-year post-secondary institution.
  • Experience with Ex Libris Alma/Primo.
  • Experience with OCLC Connexion and Worldshare Record Manager.
  • Experience with data manipulation tools, such as MarcEdit.
  • Experience with OpenAthens.
