Major Duties

Under the general direction of the University Cash Services Assistant Director, the Disbursement Lead is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the day-to-day activities in the Disbursements Office. The incumbent oversees disbursement operations, which entails being responsible for the timely, efficient, and accurate disbursement of funds, including funds to financial aid recipients, tuition/fee refunds, scholarships, and various loan checks.

  • Responsible for reviewing disbursement procedures/processes and updating/creating procedures, training of staff and development of training material.
  • Assists with hiring and providing input for evaluation of staff; oversees the payroll sorting and physical distribution processes.
  • Works closely with Financial Aid, Student Accounting, Records/Registration, Payroll, and other departments to coordinate services and maintain regulations and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
  • Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
  • Additional experience in a job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of general practices, programs, and/or administrative specialties. Working knowledge of operational analysis and techniques. Thorough knowledge of general rules and regulations pertaining to financial aid funds, student refunds, and collection payment refunds.
  • Ability and specialized skills to expertly investigate and analyze problems with a broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to: oversee and/or train others and provide lead work direction; interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures to develop conclusions and make recommendations; compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty; and communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more.
  • Classification: Admin Analyst/Spclst/ 1038 / grade 2
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4379 - $6125 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4379 - $7922 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.  
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
