Position Summary The director of the Student Achievement and Success Program (SASP) is responsible for the development, leadership, and management of student achievement activities, initiatives, and programs that support first-generation, low-income students with developmental requirements, military/veterans and their family members and minority students in need of academic support. Oversees the daily operation of SASP, Summer Bridge to Success (BTS), general oversight of Military/Veterans Resource Center (MVRC), and Black Male Institute (BMI), college Foundation scholars programs (President's Opportunity Scholars and Crosby Scholars), including program planning, academic advising, non-academic in-class supports for specific gateway courses (ie, ENG 101A), external collaborations with specific Anne Arundel County Public high schools, establishing service standards, budget oversight, tracking and evaluation of program participants data to improve processes and services. The director supervises and evaluates the performance of office staff, including regular employees, contract with-benefits employees, temporary employees, and federal work-study students. Works in collaboration with college faculty/staff and community members to develop programs and provide holistic retention advising and services responsive to student needs. |
Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction for the design and implementation of in-person and virtual activities/services for SASP; facilitate the development of SASP operations and procedures; Provide oversight and management of the budget for SASP programs Hispanic Youth Symposium, Bridge To Success (BTS), Black Male Institute (BMI) Military Veterans Resource Center (MVRC) and other college Foundation sponsored initiatives including the President Opportunity Scholars (POSCH) and Crosby Scholars programs. |
