Position Announcement Title: Director, Public Health Program

Rank: Assistant Professor

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the mission and purposes of Langston University and the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
Collaborate and communicate closely with the program Dean.
Teach assigned public health courses.
Certified to teach online or must be certified within one year of hiring.
Ability to move courses to online offerings.
Recruit qualified faculty to teach in the program.
Able to work cooperatively within a team structure, with open and ongoing communication being an essential skill.
Participate in curriculum, course development, implementation, and evaluation.
Participates in student advisement, academic counseling, recruitment, and retention activities.
Attend School and University faculty meetings.
Serve on assigned School and University committees.
Engagement in scholarly activities.
Serve as a professional role model.
Share meetings updates, documents, reports, etc. as requested by the Dean or other university administrators.
Assume and effectively perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Qualifications:
Master's degree in public health required; Doctorate in public health or related field required. Consideration will be given to a candidate who can validate emollment in a doctoral program for at least one year.
Two years of teaching experience is required unless the ability to teach can be validated.
Previou experience in online instruction in a baccalaureate public health program is preferred.
Commitment to diverse perspectives as evidenced by educational preparation.
Ability to work effectively as a team member.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to perform the essential skills and competencies in the field of public health.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
