Jayhawk Global is an education innovation center that advances and delivers non-traditional forms of learner engagement, including online degree programs, professional and workforce development, certifications, competency-based educational offerings, credit for prior experience, employee training, and enrichment learning. Jayhawk Global's mission is both internal, working collaboratively with all KU academic schools and departments, and external, serving all 105 Kansas counties, 50 U.S. states, and over 40 countries. The units in Jayhawk Global include: Academic & Professional Programs (including the Aerospace Short Course Program, Jayhawk Online, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute), the Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute, Jayhawk Flex, and the Center for Online & Distance Learning.
Jayhawk Global's KU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) OLLI exists to offer its members intellectual, social, recreational and cultural experiences in a stimulating environment for adults ages 50 and older. The program's name stems from support received by the Bernard Osher Foundation which has provides support to similar programs across the country. KU OLLI offers non-credit, enrichment classes in multiple locations across northeastern Kansas in partnership with other academic and community organizations and encourages active participation by members in volunteer capacities.
The Director of the KU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is responsible for the overall strategic and operational success of OLLI day-to-day and in the long term. This position oversees the development and implementation of Osher programming, recruits and develops instructors, manages the Institute's resources, and fosters community relationships that support the program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for the wellbeing and contributions of older adults, a commitment to financial stewardship, and a drive towards innovative delivery methods and programming.
This position supervises one full-time program manager and 1-2 student employees.
