The Director of Online Education and Learning Innovation will be responsible for directing all designated activities and duties associated with the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of Wagner’s online education and learning technology efforts. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Academic Programs, the Director will work closely with faculty directors, as well as senior leadership, school-specific units, central University offices, and external partners to establish and deliver high quality online programs and initiatives consistent with Wagner’s brand and standards. This will involve strategic judgement and oversight from conception to development to launch and the mobilization of faculty and staff around market analysis, marketing, recruitment, curricular design, student experience, and other programmatic elements as needed. The Director will closely collaborate with senior leadership and faculty program directors to set priorities, determine project timelines, convene key stakeholders, and monitor progress towards project milestones to ensure online programs and learning technology initiatives are completed on time and within budget. The Director will directly supervise staff members working on online education programs and learning technology initiatives. In addition, the Director serves as the primary liaison between Wagner and relevant external partners, and will keep current with the online learning marketplace and current vendor offerings.
**This is a 24-month fixed-term position with the possibility for ongoing renewal.**
7+ years progressively responsible relevant professional experience in academic administration. This must include experience in project management and the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously; experience working with learning management systems and using technology to deliver educational experiences; experience supervising administrative operations and staff and collaborating with faculty; and familiarity with managing budgets.
3+ years Familiarity with marketing, enrollment management, and/or student affairs in online education.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders to meet organizational goals. Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and execute tactically. Must be able to practice creative problem solving and respond well in a fast-paced, continually evolving environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
An understanding of online learning and instructional technology, current trends and innovations, and vendors in the online learning marketplace.
