Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy ( is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. The School has built a reputation for its continued pursuit of excellence, rigorous education and training programs, cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, progressive pharmacy practices, efficient business operations, and its outstanding faculty, staff, and students. Position Summary
 This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Office of Lifelong Learning Director has primary responsibility for leading the Office of Lifelong Learning (OLL) at the School. Activities encompass the following major areas: (1) develop and manage Continuing Pharmacy Education programs, (2) provide accreditation services to Pharmacy Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) and ensure Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) CE accreditation and North Carolina Board of Pharmacy compliance, (3) work with external partners to provide workforce development programs that meet market needs, and (4) support School workforce development and nondegree activities. These activities reinforce the School’s strategic priorities and help connect the community with practice-based skills, educational, and informational services provided by the School.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities relevant to the teaching assignment, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. In addition, the position minimums should satisfy any accreditation requirements in the specified area of instruction.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Post-baccalaureate degree with 8-10 years of experience in adult professional education, preferably in a college or university setting. Working knowledge of financial and accounting principles as well as applicable university, state, and accrediting body requirements.
