Job/Department Summary:

Working independently with direct supervision of Assistant Vice President for Student Success Initiatives and University Advising, the Director will strategically collaborate with leadership across Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. This position will serve as a member of the Student Success Initiatives and University Advising Leadership team. Incumbent will work with Enrollment Management and University Advising to align strategic initiatives.

Required Education and Experience:

Requires a Master's Degree in a related field

AND

Five (5) years' experience working with academic advising programs, including three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory and/or managerial experience, including a minimum of five (5) years working directly with students in an advisor capacity.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: 

  • Bilingual
  • Masters degree in Higher Education, or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience (demonstrated by 10 or more years experience) required.
  • Experience in higher education RFP  development, implementation, and oversight.
  • Experience using PeopleSoft Common Management Systems (CMS) and TargetX / Salesforce (CRM).
  • In-depth expertise and knowledge of university policy, processes, procedures, and regulations within the CSU system.

Time Base: Full-time- 1.0

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:30. 

CSU Classification Salary Range:  $57,744 - $185,388 per year.  (Admin II)

Anticipated Hiring Range:  Not expected to exceed $90,000 per year.  Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected.

The person holding this position is considered a "Limited Mandated Reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 (revised July 21, 2017) as a condition of employment.

This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to Management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
