Job Summary
  • Oversee a comprehensive recreational sports program, including intramurals, sports clubs, fitness, aquatics, outdoors, and informal recreation
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the Activity Center (~120,000 sq ft.), Recreation Center West (25,000 sq. ft), SPN Wellness Center (8,000), outdoor fitness courts, outdoor basketball, and sand volleyball courts
  • Directly supervise full-time staff
  • Manage the University Recreation budget
  • Develop and expand current programs in accordance with University policy and procedures as well as the NIRSA guidelines
  • Serve as department liaison for various on-campus and community user events
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree; 3 yrs professional exp in recreation, sports management, intramurals or related programs.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s degree with five years within the recreational sports field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administer a comprehensive recreational sports department to include competitive sports (Clubs and Intramural), fitness, aquatics, outdoors, and informal recreation.

Remote Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
