Director of Ticket Sales

The Director of Sales will oversee new sales efforts for all ticketed sports for Pitt Athletics. The candidate will work closely with the Associate Athletic Director of Sales & Service to recruit and hire ticket sales staff. The candidate will develop and maintain a personal client base of ticket sales prospects and customers. The incumbent will monitor the progress of the sales team and help with goal setting for revenue and production. The Director of Sales will report directly to the Associate Athletic Director of Sales & Service.
Job Summary
Manages day-to-day ticketing operations, fulfills ticket orders, and answers ticketing inquiries. Oversees ticketing system and ensures accurate reporting, approvals, and dues. Coordinates the development, implementation, and logistical aspects of ticket sales and operations. Develops and implements new initiatives to increase ticket sales and other revenue streams.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the oversight of sales team. Oversees selling at a high level while also providing great customer experience. The individual will aim to drive the sales team to achieve the department’s overall new sales goal on an annual basis. Responsible for training and developing their sales team. Expected to meet regularly with the team and team members individually to help them meet and exceed their goals and development. Responsible for meeting and exceeding their own new sales goals. They will be responsible for the sale of new premium seats as well as general season tickets.
Responsible for providing sales and revenue reports to the Associate Athletic Director of Sales & Service when necessary. The individual will be an integral part in all decision making regarding new sales initiatives for all Pitt ticketing. Other Duties as assigned.
Physical Effort
Computer work, ability to travel and attend meetings on and off campus. Required to be mobile for long periods of time especially on gamedays.
