Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Director of the Office of Appreciative Education - Boca Raton, FL.

Reporting to the Founder of the Office of Appreciative Education (OAE) and housed in the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology at Florida Atlantic University, the Director will play a pivotal role in building upon the OAE's existing strengths and propelling its impact further.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Stewarding the day-to-day operations and budget of the OAE, ensuring a human-centered environment that empowers our team to deliver exceptional professional development experiences.

  • Curating all professional development offerings (i.e., Appreciative Advising Online Course, Appreciative Administration Online Course, Appreciative Advising Institutes, Appreciative Advising Academy, Free Webinar Series, Certified Appreciative Adviser Program, Appreciative Education Conferences, etc.), including playing a key role in cultivating a dynamic learning experience by collaboratively developing engaging course content, attracting and training skilled instructors, and designing effective assessments.

  • Collaborating with colleagues at UNCG and the editorial team to help manage the Journal of Appreciative Education .

  • Co-creating a vibrant online presence that showcases the OAE’s strengths and attracts a thriving community of learners.

  • Championing innovative funding solutions to secure resources that amplify the OAE’s impact.

  • Cultivating the strengths of the OAE team and fostering a supportive and inspiring work environment by supervising a Coordinator (1 FTE), a Graduate Teaching Assistant (.25 FTE), undergraduate intern(s), and volunteers.

  • Leveraging the collective strengths of key leaders across FAU and other institutions to collaboratively drive the successful implementation of impactful OAE initiatives.

  • Co-creating a visionary roadmap designed to unleash the full potential of the OAE to cultivate a thriving learning ecosystem.

  • Contributing to the success of the OAE by taking initiative on developing new projects and opportunities as they arise.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Doctorate degree.
Extensive involvement in the Appreciative Education movement.
Documented experience with developing programs and curriculum, successfully directing an administrative office, including supervision of employees.
A leader known for fostering a collaborative spirit, innovation, and a positive attitude, building on the strengths of the team to achieve exceptional results.
Proven ability to conduct research and publish/present findings.

Salary:

$75,000 - $90,000 per year.
Exempt Administrative, Managerial, Professional (AMP)
