Job Description

A key leader in the Information Technology department representing ISU and the CIO in all interactions. Responsible for directing and overseeing classroom technology and customer service support for the entire university. Must effectively lead classroom technology and customer service managers in providing exceptional customer service.  Also responsible for identifying innovative, cost-effective classroom technologies that support all modalities.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the support activities and technical development of ISU’s Technology support personnel

• Work collaboratively across all ISU IT functional teams for daily enterprise operations

• Work closely with faculty, students, and staff to provide support and service for classroom technology and other technology needs

• Build and support a unified help desk solution for all support needs

•Responsible for the architecture, design, installation and maintenance of an enterprise classroom technology solution for the University

• Research, review and evaluate multimedia hardware, software and peripherals

• Create and implement a comprehensive classroom technology rollout plan and associated budget

• Represent ITS interests on various committees and in meetings with both internal and external stakeholders

• Remain current with developments in relevant professional areas through reading, research, and participation in conferences and meetings. Stay abreast of trends in classroom technology as they relate to university goals. Maintain and upgrade technical knowledge and acumen through personal study, workshops, and conference attendance

• Complete other projects as assigned by the CIO

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, business administration, or related field

• Five years of experience working with classroom technology solutions including evaluation and implementation

• Five years of experience in a customer service role

• Three years of formal experience supervising and leading professional staff and/or managers, preferably in a higher education setting

• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to think strategically

• Expert knowledge of Zoom web conferencing systems and technologies

• Commitment to university’s mission, vision and values

• Proven ability to set priorities, to meet deadlines, and to identify critical tasks

• Proven ability to create and orchestrate comprehensive technology rollout plans

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication

• Demonstrated ability to create budgets and budget forecasts
Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

• Experience establishing and/or implementing a comprehensive campus-wide classroom technology rollout plan

• Experience managing a multi-million-dollar capital or operating budget

• Knowledge of Extron and Crestron room control systems

• Knowledge of Cisco video conferencing systems
